Mystic Tan Spray

Get a Tan in less than 60 Seconds that is UV-Free!

Mystic Tan makes an immediate fashion statement, creating an even, natural looking tan that peaks four to six hours after application and retains the color for days. In addition, many people use Mystic Tan to prepare for special occasions: spring break, class reunions, first dates, graduations, proms, weddings, etc.

Applied as a spray mist in a booth, Mystic Tan is the only UV-free tanning product in the world utilizing MagneTan technology. The MagneTan process polarizes the bronzing pigment and uses the human body’s magnetic properties to attract the mist to the skin evenly and instantly. The tanner simply disrobes in a private room, enters the booth and presses the start button. After 60 seconds, they step out, towel off, and leave with a tan which will continue to develop for the next 1 to 2 hours.

The Mystic Tan UV-Free tanning booth uses a touch-free, spray-on tanning technique that creates an even, natural-looking tan in less than 60 seconds and lasts four to seven days. Mystic Tan’s proven spray-on technique dispenses a fine mist of its proprietary sunless tanning solution, made up of moisturizing Aloe Vera, bronzers and sunless tanner.

1. What is the main ingredient in sunless tanning products?

DHA is scientifically known as dihydroxyacetone and is classified as a 3-carbon sugar. When applied to skin, a chemical reaction occurs between amino acids and the dead surface cells to produce a brown color, or tan. It is important to note that DHA does not damage skin, it only affects the outermost cells of the epidermis causing no long-term ill effects (unless a skin allergy is discovered, which has been only rarely reported). DHA is considered safe enough to be approved for cosmetic application by the FDA, and is considered nontoxic and noncarcinogenic. DHA should not be a substitute for an SPF sunscreen.

2. What is the Mystic Tan Booth?

The Mystic Tan booth is a full-body, DHA tanning process that utilizes MagneTan technology, a revolutionary process that allows the booth to apply a uniform amount of tanning solution to all parts of the body. When the special Mystic Tan solution passes through the booth’s nozzles, the particles of solution are polarized taking on the characteristics of “tiny magnets.” MagneTan technology uses the body’s own magnetic properties to attract the solution particles to all surfaces of the skin. When the tanning process is finished, the consumer simply steps out of the booth, towels-off any excess mist, dresses, and exits. The result is a uniform, natural-looking tan in less than five minutes.

3. Will it turn me orange?

No! In the past, self-tanners gave many individuals an unnatural orange glow and caused streaking. Most of these undesirable results were caused by improper or ineffective application techniques. Applying creams and lotions by hand usually results in excessive amounts being absorbed in the skin. Excessive amounts applied in a single application can give an orange glow to the skin. Unnatural dark spots may also appear in dry or thick-skinned areas such as elbows, knees, and knuckles because these areas have a tendency to absorb more of the cream. Hand held spray-on applicators tend to run and cause streaking. The MagneTan technology used to apply the Mystic Tan tanning solution assures that all areas of the body get a uniform coating of the solution in the exact quantity required to produce a golden brown tan.

4. What should I do when I step out of the Mystic Tan booth?

The mist applied in the Mystic Tan tanning booth is very fine. By the time you step out of the booth most of the mist will have dried, but there may still be a few moist areas. You may see small droplets clinging to the body hair on your arms or legs. This remaining moisture can be removed quite easily by toweling dry. Do not worry about wiping off the solution with the towel. Toweling does not streak the tan, and any solution that comes off on the towel was excess and will not affect your tan. Just towel off the same way you do when you take a shower. Be sure you have toweled all moist areas before dressing.

5. How long do I have to wait after a tanning session before I can shower?

We recommend that you wait a minimum of 4 hours after tanning to give the DHA enough time to fully set. If you shower earlier, you may diminish the intensity of the tan. When you do shower the initial tan created by the water-soluble bronzer will wash off, but the DHA will remain and create your long-term tan.

6. Do I need to cover my hair while tanning in the Mystic Tan tanning booth?

Many consumers wear disposable shower caps (provided by the Salon) to keep the solution from getting in their hair. Other consumers tan without covering their hair. The solution will not penetrate the hair follicles.
